“one of the most compelling experimental acts today”

“Mood, unique… and epic” - Far Out Mag

Hi, we’re Idiogram. You don’t know us, but we think that you should. We are an innovative instrumental band from coastal Scotland. Nestled between the sea and the hills, we bring together influences from all that we love - musical and otherwise - to find the beauty in chaos and joy where all things meet. Our music gets weird but if you’re ok with that we think you’ll find something to love, or perhaps even hate but you certainly won’t be left indifferent.

Blending post-prog, rock, electronic, ambient and classical sounds with field recordings, samples, and soundscapes, our debut album ‘Reunion of Broken Parts’ is a fresh offering that radiates warmth and intensity, authenticity and vulnerability, and defies categorisation.

At its core our music is about collaboration and community. There is no songwriter here, just four equals embracing ideas and uncertainty with trust. It is an approach we also carry through to our sonic pallete, taking care to blend the organic and digital, setting them in dialogue with each other, seeking consensus and resonance whilst embracing friction and dissonance.

REUNION OF BROKEN PARTS

Our debut album ‘Reunion of Broken Parts’ (released 22nd March 2025) is creatively ambitious and unyielding. It disregards any preconceived notions about what should and should not be; it is simple in its complexity, refreshingly unpredictable and as accessible as it is challenging.

Join us on a trip through our collective psyche where moods and emotions veer wildly between dense, melodramatic bombast and existential void-gazing, all delivered through a sonic landscape that encompasses sparse ambience to wall-of-sound, via bold riffs and delicate melodies. Musical parts and unions live here in abundance; a host of earworms tucked away amidst strangeness, hope and complexity.

This is music for active listening, join us on our journey to soundtrack a better, weirder future. Hop on-board, you’re all invited.
